Xianghu Scenic Area is located in the western suburbs of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and is a picturesque tourist destination. Xianghu, named for its resemblance to an elephant in its layout, is formed by the convergence of the Nanjiang, Beijiang, Dongjiang, Xijiang, and Qingshan Lake waters. The scenic area is a multifunctional urban wetland, integrating ecological protection, recreation, tourism, water sports, and religious culture, and is one of Nanchang’s top ten urban development projects. In 2020, Xianghu Scenic Area underwent a series of upgrades and renovations, including lake viewing, landscape enhancement, and lighting improvements, aligning with the standards of a “5A” scenic area. At night, iconic structures such as Wanshou Palace, Wanshou Tower, and Yuzhang Terrace are illuminated in vibrant colors, adding a bright touch to the beautiful city of Hongcheng.
