Beijing National Stadium

As one of the venues for the ice events of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the National Stadium underwent a comprehensive nightscape renovation starting in late 2018. EXC provided a full range of nightscape lighting products, using the dynamic interplay of light and shadow to infuse the building with modernity and style, creating a grand visual narrative unique to the architecture and presenting a vibrant nighttime scene.

The project broke away from traditional pixel lighting methods, focusing on the quality of light. The lighting fixtures were elevated by 600mm, supported by the structure on both sides of the building. These fixtures feature dual-sided illumination: one side lights up the roof, while the other creates dynamic light points, forming a 3D visual effect that highlights the richness and vitality of culture and sports, as well as the diversity of future cities.
